ARG I'm so tired of crappy tutorials

HOLY JESUS I HATE TUTORIALS. I have tried THE Wiki tutorial (the one that EVERY readme tells you to go to), and just about every other tutorial I could find... And they all where horribly confusing.  I'm just getting into this modding/scripting stuff and I need clear directions or i will end up screwing my game irrepairibly.  PLEASE if anyone knows of a tutorial that is just stupid simple, please let me know!

Most people don't seem to have a problem with the tutorials in the WIKI. But some can be confusing if you're not familiar with the concept of what's happening.
