Autosave. I wasn't sure if the save room was working properly since the thumbnail is always bright pink? Is that normal?

So yesterday I played for several hours including some exits and reboots, and the game remembered my progress just fine. Next day though, the game is loading at a much earlier point, I think just after you arrive at the first land (with Khazar). The computer hasn't been restarted or anything...

Should this patch fix short draw distances? If not, would another unofficial patch that does be compatible with this?
