So yesterday I played for several hours including some exits and reboots, and the game remembered my progress just fine. Next day though, the game is loading at a much earlier point, I think just after you arrive at the first land (with Khazar). The computer hasn't been restarted or anything since yesterday either. Is there any way to get my real save progress back? I have a backup but that also loads the same way.
 
Have you been using the Save Game Room (F7) or simply relying on the autosave?
 
Autosave. I wasn't sure if the save room was working properly since the thumbnail is always bright pink? Is that normal?
 
It's normal when you run in windowed mode. If you run it in fullscreen the images show up normally. Either way the manual saves function just fine even if the thumbnail is bright pink.
