Constant and random crashes

basically have the normal game running, i have the patches and the fix installed and limit the game to run on one of my CPU cores however I still get frequent crashes at random when i do anything menu related like shopping for new stuff looking through the construction menu or saving.  Any tips or help for this? Its getting really annoying to play through the game at all.

What patches ?

Fan patch is known to cause more problems it fixed , on some very old  G/cards it may help but about 2008+ it was mostly obsolete.

the game did not run AT ALL without the fan patch.
