Alpha channel.... again

alpha channel. i know what it does, but i dont have photoshop which is the only program that seems to have it. does anyone know any programs that i can use alpha channeling on? ill rep you if you tell me because if i could use it could do some great mods.

Use a program called Paint.NET. It's free, and i prefer it to photoshop. I made my profile picture with it To have transparancy, go to layers > add a new layer. Then go to layers > layer properties and edit the opacity, simple. Then you will get the option to flatten the image when you save, do so.
