After beating the game, I went back to Land 1 before Nemesis trashed my village.
Well, after loading my transport portal and heading to land 2 I got a surprise-- It seems that Lethys decided to go on the offensive. Usually he keeps his creature around his own territories to... do whatever it is he does and just hang on to his villages. After loading the save, he started leashing it to nearby settlements in an attempt to convert them. I haven't checked lands 3 and 5 to see if the AI is aggressive there as well, but perhaps loading earlier saves unlocks some sort of more challenging mode.
