you method is good but to make it better you don't have to quit the game just press skirmish game and stay at that menu minimize the game use the creature changer and than go back to the game no need to close the game

I tend to use that guy plus the flock miracle which you can get by solving the tree puzzle but it takes quite some time for me to get it right but it worth it and i also use some artifacts i bring with me from land 2 so i can convert villages quite fast and than i take that village quite easily...

I like b&w1 better I don't really know why it could be because they made it enough challenging and the creature thing was funner and even when the AI was stupid it was still OK also you did had multiplayer
